George Tyrrell

George Tyrrell (February 6, 1861 – July 15, 1909) was a Jesuit priest (until his expulsion) and a Modernist Catholic scholar. His attempts to interpret Catholic teaching in the context of modern knowledge made him a key figure in the Modernist controversy within the Roman Catholic Church in the late 19th century.
